15mm Demonworld Dark Elf Cavalry Dar’Kalon Heavy Cavalry

All the King’s Horses: 15mm Cavalry, Fantasy and Semi-Historical

Enough of terrain and back to good old miniature painting! As I mentioned in an earlier post these Dark Elf Cavalry (Dar’Kalon Heavy Cavalry)  were taking me an age to finish off. But I did and here they are.

It doesn’t help that there are numerous duplicates which can often blunt my enthusiasm and attention. But the end result of a big squadron of heavy cavalry is worth it I think.

Points awarded for those who can identify the source for the shield transfers!

On a similar note (painted a little while ago but I forgot to photograph) are these chaps also from Demonworld – The Empire’s Masters of the Order. These I started years ago and that lack of enthusiasm kicked in and they sat half finished for several years. I did make up some rather nice ‘peacock’ banners for them but I recently decided to remove them because they looked too clumsy.

By no means have they been waiting the longest for a completed paint job but they are pretty close. Most of them I’m sure are Essex but there may well be a few other makers in there too.

  1. I am guessing the old shield transfers are from GW Necrons kits?

Loving the 15mm figures. After years of 28mm, I am seriously considering moving to the smaller scale.

    1. First prize to Allan!

You can but try and see how you like painting them. One of the Blighthaven packs isn’t going to worry your bank manager after all.

Let me know how you get on.

    1. Thanks Stéphane. Glad you like them.

I bought these years and years ago (not long after the originally came out) with the intention of doing 15mm Warmaster or similar.

Today they might be used for Dragon Rampant, 15mm Kings of War or similar. In truth, I don’t get much ‘gaming’ done as I would like (the rules are an excuse to collect and paint). C’est la vie!

Just popped on to your blog and see your Frostgrave terrain is looking rather fine indeed. So much ‘cleaner’ than my efforts.
