Enough of terrain and back to good old miniature painting! As I mentioned in an earlier post these Dark Elf Cavalry (Dar’Kalon Heavy Cavalry) were taking me an age to finish off. But I did and here they are.
On reflection Cavalry does take me a lot longer than 1 cavalry = 2 miniatures might suggest. It doesn’t help that there are numerous duplicates which can often blunt my enthusiasm and attention. But the end result of a big squadron of heavy cavalry is worth it I think.
Points awarded for those who can identify the source for the shield transfers!
On a similar note (painted a little while ago but I forgot to photograph) are these chaps also from Demonworld – The Empire’s Masters of the Order. These I started years ago and that lack of enthusiasm kicked in and they sat half finished for several years. I did make up some rather nice ‘peacock’ banners for them but I recently decided to remove them because they looked too clumsy.
Not to be out-done, and while I had the terrain setup for photographing cavalry, I thought I’d get some better shots of these guys. By no means have they been waiting the longest for a completed paint job but they are pretty close. Most of them I’m sure are Essex but there may well be a few other makers in there too.
And here are a few extra shots of the infantry I pulled out (some of which manned the tower featured in these pics (from Scotia Grendel btw, Dwarf Drawbridge bought about 25 years ago!). Mostly Essex.
