A fantastical take on Faustus Furius chariot racing

Many moons ago I had the pleasure of joining Tim and a host of other gamers at the Falkirk District Wargames Club for what was a rip-roaring and hilariously fun game of Faustus Furius;

“Faustus Furius is a fast and furious, tongue in cheek table-top racing game based very loosely around the chariot races of the ancient world and adaptable to any racing situation.

Designed for 2-8 participants, it allows players to pit chariots from any culture or period against one another in a no-holds-barred race to fame and glory.”

Not too long after I decided to paint up a few fantasy based chariots that would compliment those I already had in various armies or collections. The aim was to have a enough races and types to provide for a large game. As I’ve not been able to make the club in a long time nothing has come of this as yet, but here in the wings are the competitors. All 15mm except the Snotling Pumpwagon which is scale neutral if you look at it the right way 😉

Option for the Orcs and Elves to run as teams could be an interesting play.  15mm Fastus Furius Fantasy chariots demonworld Ral Partha Alternative ArmiesDemonworld Thain Chariot15mm Fastus Furius Fantasy chariots demonworld Ral Partha Alternative Armies 15mm Fastus Furius Fantasy chariots demonworld Ral Partha Alternative Armies 15mm Fastus Furius Fantasy chariots demonworld Ral Partha Alternative ArmiesRal Partha High Elf Chariots (OOP I think)15mm Fastus Furius Fantasy chariots demonworld Ral Partha Alternative Armies Continue reading A fantastical take on Faustus Furius chariot racing

Bad Guys for Zombicide Black Plague: Warlocks, Abomination and Wolves

Recording progress on Zombicide Black Plague – I have been working through the mound of plastic that is Zombicide Black Plague. I’ve not photographed everything yet but the Base Set is completed as well as most of the stretch goal survivors and a few of the extra monsters.  One guest box done with a couple more still in the box. I sold on Wulfsberg so I don’t have the burden of that to paint! Which is just as well as I’ve also been painting up Mythic Battles: Pantheon (just completed the base set – photos to follow at some point). Work on Conan has stalled a bit as a result. And I nearly cried when Rising Sun arrived (miniatures look amazing). Green Horde was sold on immediately!

More over, my son and I have been playing the game! Several times now with varying degrees of success. Looks great with painted miniatures and the gameplay is simple and quick. Much less challenging that MB:P

From out of the Rad-Desert come the Sahadeen: 15mm from Rebel Minis

Continuing with the re-balance of fantasy vs sci-fi on this blog I present to you some Rebel Minis “Sahadeen” forces. It will come as no surprise that the desert style troops would also happily fit in to a barren post apocalyptic setting as well – it is not a coincidence.

2 squads of 8 should be plenty for the types of games I like.

For the Love of Sci-fi! I have not forgotten you…

Looking over my more recent past posts you would think that I’d lost my love of 15mm Sci-fi. Not true. But is has taken a bit of a back seat.

So more recently I dug out a bunch of post apocalyptic “ganger” figures with a view to preparing them for a Gaslands type thing (I say Gaslands as it seems to be the Mad Max offering all are going for at the moment though they could easily be used for any similar rules set). I’ve not got a copy of said rules yet but they do seem to be doing very well and stirring up interest in this genre once again. All good.

Anyway, as I looked at these I thought they’d do equally well as Reaver-types as well (see Firefly) hence I went with a more uniformed black colouring. I resisted covering them in blood and such at this stage so that they would be good for the likes of Gaslands too and I think they work out quite well.

Between the dozen, half are “Crazed Gangers” from Splintered Light Miniatures and the other half are “Post Apoc Gangers” from Rebel Miniatures (same sculptor?) but I can’ recall for sure as I did buy them a very long time ago and can’t see them on the site.
