I’ve slowly (read very slowly, a bit like my friend here) been working through these wonderful anthropomorphic woodland creatures from Splintered Light Miniatures.
As a break between painting 28mm miniatures (which take me so long) this guy provided a much needed diversion. At 20mm he will work great along side 15mm or 28mm depending upon your perspective on how such fantasy creatures would scale (if they were real, which they are not, so it doesn’t matter a jot).
Quite please I managed to paint his eyes on his glasses as if you could see through them. It would be a shame to miss out his dopey yet wizened look otherwise.
I was just scanning the Media Library and there a few pictures in there to post that didn’t really have enough clout to justify their own dedicated post so I thought I’d do a bit of a random medley just to get them online. Apart from the 15mm there is little theme going on here…
Frostgrave from Osprey seems to be the flavour of the month and attracting quite a lot of attention (noticed it even got it’s own board on LAF – I wonder how that works…). After listening to the chaps on Fools Daily ranting about it I finally caved in and ordered a copy – only £10 off Amazon for a pretty hardback you can’t really say no. Should arrive early next week. Continue reading Frostgrave anyone? In 15mm of course!→
Dark Age miniatures from Splintered Light again. Really like this character pack which offers a ready-to-play warband for skirmish games. Also really like the Viking shield decals from Little Big Men. The best so far.
Since taking these pictures I think I’ve now cracked the field of depth issue on my camera – which is just as well because these really suffer.
Miniature figure collector and painter (in that order) and solo wargamer whose opponent has lost his gaming mojo
